Grasshopper’s Beginnings
Grasshopper was set up in early 2013. We began with the idea of starting a kid’s festival but decided that we should begin initially by creating events and projects for kids and families. We spent what seemed like an eternity thinking of the right name for the company and wanted something that was sparky, energetic and positive. After a number of false starts with Jellyfish (too stingy), Firefly (too creepy) and Wonder Lab (too sciency) we came up with Grasshopper.
